EPSON 3200 Pro Basic Scanner Instructions


(For more instructions see scanner folder on desktop and manual at monitor's desk)

1. Paper Place item to be scanned face down on the scanner and press the start button (black button on scanner), OR, double-click the EPSON SMART PANEL icon on the desktop. Click the option of your choice to begin scanning.

   COPY- Use the scanner and the printer as a copy machine. Select text or photo and the number of copies, etc. Then press the green copy button. Make sure you are logged on to your CS account so that printing will go through.

   Scan to Application - scan an image and open it in a supported application.

   Scan to File - save the scan directly to a file on your home directory.

   Optical Character Recognition (OCR) - Scan a text document and open/save/edit it in Word, PDF, RTF and other formats. Use OmniPage Pro 12, not the Epson Smart Panel for OCR (see directions below and manual in PDF format on the desktop).

2. Transparencies and film First, you will need to check-out the film holders from the systems office MCH 208, 8-5 M-F. Then, see directions, pages 5-6 in Epson 3200 F.A.Q. (see lab monitor).

3. OmniPage Pro 12 (OCR)- Scan a text document and open/save/edit it in Word, PDF, RTF and other formats. Go to Start -> Programs -> ScanSoft OmniPage Pro 12 -> OmniPage Pro. Click the OCR Wizard button at the top left. Follow the directions and click Finish.

4. Applications Installed only on this computer: OmniPage Pro 12 Adobe Acrobat Writer 5.0 Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0 Monaco EZcolor 2.5 ArcSoft PhotoStudio, PhotoBase, and Panorama Maker SilverFast LaserSoft Imaging
