How to Connect to the Computer Science Wireless Network
Connection to the Network
- Purchase a wireless network card for your laptop. Any one will do, so long as it is 802.11b compliant.
- Stop by the Systems office (MCH208) to register your 802.11b compliant device. Please bring a Photo ID and the device to be registered. For example, your laptop and 802.11b compliant wireless network card.

Setup your device:
- Configure the wireless network card to use an SSID of “Computer Science LAN” (without quotes).
- Do not enable WEP.
- Read and Sign the Wireless Network Connection and Usage Policy.
- A member of the Systems will attempt to provide any additional assistance required to setup your wireless connection.
PURCHASING AN 802.11b WIRELESS ACCESS CARD
The Computer Science Department does not make it a policy to recommend a specific manufacturer's hardware or software. Any 802.11b compliant wireless access card should work with the Wireless Network.
