Ten new Cisco AIR-AP2802I wireless access points were installed in labs and office spaces. The new APs provide better CSWLAN coverage and wireless speed.

Eight new servers are been deployed for programming use. Each server has two 14-core Xeon E5-2683 CPUs, 256GB RAM, and 10G network connections.

A new database server was put in service on May 21. The server runs MariaDB 5.5 on RedHat 7.2 server.

We have replaced rainloop with roundcube. Check http://webmail2.cs.fsu.edu. Roundcube provides better performance and options than rainloop. We will add mobile friendly skin soon.

We are happy to announce a new email server, mail2.cs.fsu.edu. The server has two 10-core Xeon CPUs and 16GB RAM with 2TB disk space. It runs CentOS 7.2 and postfix in maildir format. You can check your emails either through webmail — http://webmail2.cs.fsu.edu, or through shell/quake using pine/alpine.

Quake used to be a server that serves CS grads and undergrads. It was removed from production after hardware failure and lack of fund to replace it. Thanks to the Student Tech Fee, we are now able to bring back the server. To access it, ssh to quake.cs.fsu.edu.
